My sincere sympathy on the death of your dear Dad John. Its many years since I first heard John
Kenna's name from my Aunt Ciss (Miss Tynan as she was called in those times) who was the Bookeeper at Willoughbys. When she came home she would regale us with the "goings on" at Willoughbys, all good I must say and sometimes funny too...
John and herself worked well together in the business. I came across a letter he wrote her when she home sick also a photo of his wedding day. Have fond memories of visiting her at the shop and meeting your dad

Again my sympathy and may his gentle soul Rest In Peace

Dear Noel, PJ, and Jacinta,

The news of Johns passing brought a great sadness to our house. We remember him for his great chats, his knowledge of all things Kildare and his lovely fiddle playing. The session in Granny Delaney's years ago, with John on the Fiddle, Jim on the Squeeze Box and uncle Jimmy's Irish dancing has always stayed with me. John of course organized the band for Linda and my wedding and played a good few tunes himself in Kilkea Castle on the night! Helen and John, always gave us a great welcome and we always looked forward to the Sunday visits to your house over the years growing up, He will be dearly missed and may he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the Kenna family on the death of John. John was a great Monasterevan historian. During my visits over the years, I always enjoyed my time in his company talking about "the old days" in town. John was an intelligent, gentle, kind, and humble man. He was a huge contributor to the community during his life in operating Willoughby's, a local successful hardware, builders, and farmers supply retail company, especially in the aftermath of World War 2 in the late 1940's and 1950's, when times were hard for everyone. He will be greatly missed and leaves many memories for many people. May he rest in peace.
