So sorry to hear of Johns untimely death. I remember when John turned up in Templeogue with his pal Mark Cookman to join CHC as fresh faced youngsters in c1978, John having joined Northern Bank from Raphoe Grammer School. He played on the 1st & 2nd teams till he was transferred to Cork where he played with Cork CofI winning an IJC cup with another Corinthian Simon Gay as Captain
On his return to Dublin John played on our lower teams and his sons Mark, Jonnie, Michael and Tom all journeyed through our colts section where John helped with coaching.

We will miss him.

I was so sad to hear of John's sudden death last week. I have great memories working with John at PTSB back in the early 00's. I was even one of the fortunate ones to be on his bowling team. I think at times he might have wished I wasn't as bowling wouldn't be my forte. We had some great laughs together. He was a gentleman and I'm delighted to have known him. Rest in Peace John
