I used to be parish priest in Banbury and I used to visit John when he was still in his own home close to St Joseph's. He had great faith and a true gentleman. I told him I had cousins from Williamstown. I will keep him and all the family in my prayers. May he rest in peace

You are all in my prayers as we give thanks got for the life of Uncle John. Daddy, Lord have mercy on him, always looked forward to his visits when he’d be back in town. I have offered masses here this weekend for John and regret that I can’t get home b for the funeral.. best wishes,

On the death of John, we extend sincere sympathy to his sister-in-law, Maureen, to his nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. My cousin, Maura Mangan (nee Mee, Polshask) and her husband, Jim, whom we often visited in Banbury, spoke regularly of their friendship with John, RIP.

Sad to hear of the passing of John. Wonderful memories of John when he would come from England to visit family and friends. He would come to Ballymoe in a jeep. He was the most relaxed, laid back person you are ever likely to meet and the cap he wore on his head was all part of his wonderful personality. A lovely man, he will be sadly missed. Sincere sympathy to the Lyon's family and his extended niece's and nephew's. May he rest in peace 🙏
