He was a wonderful ambassador for the sport of basketball in Sligo, his experience and knowledge of the game unrivalled. He gave his time unconditionally and I remember fondly the many chats and laughs as he drove our underage teams around the country to various tournaments. I will be forever grateful for the influence his wise words had on my basketball career. In recent years, the national league games provided an opportunity for a friendly catch-up. He spoke with great pride about his children and in more recent years, his adored grandchildren. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
