I have great memories of John from his time with Munster Development when he was a thorough professional and a great mentor. He taught young players about the importance of attitude, discipline and timekeeping ... as well as their on-field skills. My condolences to his family on his untimely passing.

Hi Trish
I am very saddened to hear of John. All week.I have been remembering him and the good times we had .His incredible hospitality and his constant good humour. He was always smiling and impossible not to be in good form around him . I used to stay in the family home in the 80's and will always remember our nights out.

Such a lovely gent of a man, always a smile and a hello when he'd pass you on the sideline. John inspired and encouraged many kids, my own son included, who always spoke of John very fondly and to see the sadness in his face when he was told of John's passing speaks volumes of the high esteem he was held in, both on and off the pitch.
