John T you wonderful Man!

Thank you for your loving friendship for all those years. I will miss the bear hugs and belly laughs. A night out with you was guaranteed fun. I loved your zest for life. Your charisma was infectious and such a joy. You were a true gentleman with impeccable manners.

I send my heartfelt love and hugs to your six wonderful children. You adored them and spoke of them all the time. You were a very proud Dad indeed.

Wow, fancy that. I knew John for the last 20 years, and even though we were both Conleth’s boys and I probably rocked up to one of his Magnet gigs in the 70s, I was never aware that he was Hurricane Johnny.

What a treat now to go to YouTube and discover the rock star.

In his latter years John was a great fixer-upper of buildings, and always so polite and accommodating. Like everyone else says, John was a true gentleman, and I'm going to miss him.

Unquestionably the best prop forward I played with at "Rock" - even though I dropped him for the 1976 Cup final!....but he was an even better entertainer. Nobody who shared a stage for 19 years, as I did, with the great Hurricane could ever forget him. He was a true force of nature, and a legendary performer. A man with a golden voice. There were nights when the tears rolled down my face with laughter and that was before we even took to the stage. You were one of a kind Hurro. It was a privilege to be your rhythm guitarist. I am so pleased that we shared the stage one last time at Christmas. I bet they wear blue suede shoes in Heaven !!
