I have just heard the sad news of Johns death
I grew up with John in Cavan
I had the pleasure of knowing the Rahill family when they ran the Lakeland hotel
Myself and John had many great adventures particularly the trip to Europe in-the early 70’s
John was always a kind hearted person and gentleman
He will be missed

Kitty, I am an old friend of John's. I only met you once but John and I used to have great fun joking with each other when he was a customer of mine. I was so sad to hear of the passing of John. Had many enjoyable conversations with John when we met in myos pub when we lived in castleknock. Lots of reminiscing about Laragh school years & the family hotel in Cavan.

John was a very good friend of my late brother, Niall, and many a night was spent at the Lakeland (chicken-in-a-basket) functions. Gentlemanly John often answered a knock on the door late at night to a few expectant faces looking for afters. His no was no problem.
