So sorry John to have missed your funeral and for that I am truly sorry. We were born within 2 days of one another, we grew up together, played on Brookfield Road, and went to school together. Loved the day we got in touch again after so many years and loved our little chats at Christmas and birthdays.
My sincere condolences to you Carmel and all the Wakefield family. May John, Rest in Peace.

Dear John,
It was with great disbelief that I read of your passing. It was only very recently we were having a catch up on all the happenings, in your life. Your love of family was always evident. Support them at this time of immense loss. The void in their lives and of those who knew you will not be easily filled. You were a force of nature in your chariot. Greet all those who have gone before us. Till we meet again a little further down the road. Keep all of us here safe.

MARGARET AND I DID NOT HAVE A BROTHER UNTIL YOU BECAME A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY WHEN YOU MARRIED CARMEL. REMEMBER HOW THE THREE OF US SANG "SISTERS" AT THE YOUR WEDDING. YOU WERE A LOVING AND GENEROUS BROTHER ALWAYS WILLING TO LEND A HAND AND DO A GOOD TURN FOR EVERYONE. OVER THE LAST FOUR AND HALVE YEARS YOU HAVE BEEN SO GOOD TO ME, TAKING ME SHOPPING AND ANYWERE ELSE I NEEDED TO GO. I LOVED YOUR NIGHTLY PHONE CALLS WHEN YOU WOULD SPIN A COUPLE OF YOUR CORNY JOKES TO ME JUST TO MAKE ME LAUGH. YOU SPUN THOSE JOKES LIKE SOMEONE KNITTING A LARGE SWEATER, THEY JUST WENT ON AND ON. I LOVED YOUR BIG BEAR HUGS. YOU WERE A WONDERFUL BROTHER AND A VERY DEVOTED HUSBAND TO CARMEL. YOU WERE LOVED AND RESPECTED BY ALL WHO KNEW YOU AND WILL ALWAYS BE FONDLY REMEMBERED BY THEM. I WILL MISS YOU VERY MUCH JOHN BUT YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. I AM GLAD YOU ARE NOW AT PEACE AND FREE FROM ALL THE ILLNESSES THAT BOTHERED YOU OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS. REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER WITH LOVE FROM YOUR SISTER-IN-LAW CATHERINE
