I first came up against Johnny playing in the schoolboys league and later the factories league in Athy and I loved the "battles "and after the match we always had a great chat, a true gentleman and glad to be able to call him a friend.

My sincerest condolences to Johnny's family, brothers and sisters and all his friends. I spent a lot of time with Johnny growing up and we did some mad things together. He was kind and generous and from reading these condolences he spent his life helping and nurturing others and was loved by all.
