And so a hero passes on - my sympathies. What a presence in life Joe was - what lasting impressions I'm sure he has left with many. For me, it will always be from the tennis courts and its world that I will remember him most. A great example, especially when those knees gave out a tad - it never stopped him - he just kept on going. I'm sure you have given him a great send-off.

The sympathies of the Galligan family to Marie and Cosmo on the passing of Joe, who my late father was very fond of, from their days in St. Pat's in Cavan down through the years. He looked after his insurance needs over that time. I bumped into him regularly in Fitz where he always had the pleasant word with that cheery manner of his, always a twinkle in the eye as if he was enjoying a recently heard joke. I have just attended the funeral service online which was very beautiful and was impressed that Joe wanted no eulogy. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.
