It is with deep sadness that I bid farewell to my dear aunt, Josie. I got to know Josie very well as a child, spending time with her during the summers where I would often sing for her. Years later, my son, Kane, would do the same. One of my most treasured memories was when Josie shared with Kane stories of how she enjoyed his father’s singing as a child and how this tradition beautifully connected three generations of our family.

Josie was a formidable Irish woman, a loyal sister, wife, mother and aunt who bravely bid farewell to her daughters, Dea and Angela, her husband, Seán and all but one of her siblings, including my father, Liam.
Josie is survived by her remaining children John and Rosie, her grandchildren and her sister, Esther, another formidable woman who is very close to my heart.

Josie’s warmth and unwavering love will always be cherished and fondly remembered by all our family and friends who mourn with us. Rest in peace, dear Josie.
