Our sympathy to the Murray, McTeigue and extended families on Pidgie's passing. May she rest in peace.
— Philip and Margaret McTeigue, Foxwood
Deepest Sympathy to Uncle Pat,Deirdre,Raymond,Brian Murray, the extended Murray, and McTague family’s for the tremendous loss of Aunt Pidgie. Uncle Pat and Aunt Pidgie welcomed me with open arms to their home in Sunnyside back in 1984. Where I stayed until I was able to get on my feet. The Murray home was my second home. I was given a job at Murray airline services jfk, and with uncle Pat being in FDNY, I was exposed to The Chief ( a civil service paper) where I applied for city jobs . I served as a sanitation enforcement agent then when I turned 21 as A NYC Transit Police Officer, and eventually followed in my Uncles footsteps and joined FDNY retiring as the rank of Captain. If it wasn’t for Aunt Pidgie ,Uncle Pat and family I wouldn’t have achieved so much.. Thank you Aunt Pidgie for your love , and support through out the years , and for being my eldest daughter Shannon’s godmother. I am sure you are in a better place for all the good you have done in your life. And once again enjoying Aisling kicking the soccer ball again.
Rest In Peace Aunt Pidgie

Sad to hear of the passing of Pidgie. She was a wonderful lady with a great love of her native Aughnasheelin. She and Pat welcomed many an emigrant to their home in New York and they in turn were always very welcome back on their many visits to Aughnasheelin and Ballinamore where they maintained a close bond with family, friends and neighbours. Pidgie will be dearly missed by all. To her beloved husband Pat, their family and extended families I offer my sincere condolences. May she rest in peace.

The passing of Pidgie Murray will leave a void, not only In the the life of her beloved husband Pat, her family Deirdre, Raymond and Brian ,her sister Rosemary, her son in law , daughters in law and her grandchildren, all of whom had an amazing personal interaction with this charming lady. She will be sadly missed by all of them and by the extended Murray , McTague and Cooke families in Ballinamore, Killaneen, Aughnasheelin and Carrigallen. Pidgie lived her faith in a very practical way, always on hand to open her door to so many emigrants from home and helping to get them settled in New York. The Murray home was a meeting place, a welcoming haven for so many over the years. Pat and Pidgie shared a great passion for Leitrim, as was demonstrated by their unselfish support for social, sporting and charitable activities associated with the county at home or in New York. May her beautiful, kind and loving soul Rest In Peace.
