I am deeply saddened to learn only today of the passing JP. I first met him in the Control Tower in Cork Airport in March 1972. Subsequently we shared a lot of working time together for many years in Dublin. I especially remember the great conversations and ‘arguments’ we had on the many night shifts we spent together; everything was discussed but at some point in the night the discussion always came around to families for at his core Billy was a true and dedicated family man.
Deepest Sympathy to you Siobhan, Jamie, Mark and extended family.

Siobhan, Jamie and Mark,

I made a friend over 30 years ago, through Sean and Thelma Barrett.
Billy was the most amazing raconteur, but also a great singer and guitar player.
We had a similar sense of humour!
He was an Air Traffic Controller at Dublin airport, and I heard many a story that would scare you into not flying! He told those stories to me just as I was about to fly back to London!!
He was well known in Dunmore East, where he and his beautiful wife Siobhan have a house, and also in Naas, Co. Kildare where he and Siobhan raised their two boys (now men).
Will miss you Billy, you added joy to the world.
