If cruel fate will not permit our Johnny to return
His heavy loss, we Bantry girls will never cease to mourn
We'll resign ourselves to our sad lot and die in grief and pain
Since Johnny died for Ireland's pride in the foreign land of Spain."

Shocked and saddened
Will always think of Julien singing this...'his' song...
Condolences to all

I remember Julien asking me when I first met him 'what's your favourite Irish song?". Almost like a challenge. I told him it was Peggy Gordon. And he didn't know it. A couple of weeks later he sang it for me from beginning to end. He loved it; the music oozed out of him. Plus the man could cook! Julien I hope wherever you are you're making other people happy with your music as you did us. Bon voyage. X
