Kay,
Over 10yrs since we last seen one another. Today I don’t mourn for what I missed but for what we had. I mourn for the lady who use to run me hot baths, wrap me in a big towel and brush my hair in front of the fire while I ate my packet of crisps, Mars and a coke. I mourn the lady who slept in her back garden with me for a week because I wanted to camp. I mourn the lady who laughed wildly when I thought I was clever eating the hidden chocolate in the draw to discover it was dog chocolate.
I mourn the lady who would dance for hours with me to boyzone and westlife. I mourn the lady who would complain how much I moved about in the bed and leave her bruised but still would let me sleep right next to her any night I asked. I mourn the lady who would hold my hand every morning to school and grab leaves as she walked passed and pass some to me so we could shred them together. I mourn the lady who genuinely was my best friend at one point. I mourn the lady that has wore a ring for over 20yrs because it got stuck the first day I gave it to her i mourn the lady who was never nanny just kay. God has taken your soul and may you rest in peace. We may have never got a last word but I am at peace for the memories we do have.
Always love. R.i.P
