My beautiful aunt Kathleen who was like my second grandmother. I will never ever forget you. You were a huge part of my childhood, every summer going down to stay in Dundalk with you and uncle John. You were so kind to me. You bought me my first bike and told me if I didn’t get on it you would instead. We had so many funny memories together. All our sleepovers we had in your bungalow I’ll cherish those memories forever. The bread and cakes that you baked for me. Our last visit together was such a special one in the sunshine and when I gave you that last hug we never wanted to let eachother go. All the years we celebrated Christmas together when my granny was alive you used to say that your best Christmas would be when you were reunited with John and this year you will have your wish. You’ll also be reunited with your mammy, daddy and siblings including my granny who I know was your best friend.. yous can get upto all the mischief together again. Someone told me once that shooting stars are just angels throwing their cigarettes away before god could catch them smoking and I’ve no doubt thats what yous will be doing together. You were an absolute saint and had one of the kindest Hearts I’ve ever known. Rest peacefully my beautiful Angel. I love you dearly and you’ll forever hold a very special place in my heart. Love always your granddaughter Maura or as you always called me Maire. Love you forever Kathleen , wishing you the best Christmas in heaven with your soulmate. X
— Maura
