Was shocked and saddened to learn of Kay's death. We had chatted only a few weeks ago and planned that I would visit before the end of Summer for a real catch up. Kay came to teach here in Tinahely for a few years in the sixties and is fondly remembered by her past pupils as a wonderful teacher and mentor. Thank you Kay for your friendship over all those years, for your delightful company, and for your gift of raising the spirit on the down times. My heartfelt sympathy to Claudine, Lorna and Diarmuid and their families and to all the Gormley families . Rest in peace Kay. Marie.

My sympathies to the Cooney family on the sad passing of your mother. She taught me in Lanesboro, was a favorite teacher of all the students. She was vibrant, happy & jolly person who loved to sing & laugh. She was an exceptional teacher - using teaching methods that are only now being accepted. Our hearts were broken when she told us she was leaving the school. May she rest in peace and I hope she's wearing the crown she's earned.
