Dear Marie, Jacinta, Anne Marie and all of Ken’s family in Ireland and France,

Inchicore College will never be the same again. I worked with Ken back in the 90’s in Inchicore College of Education.
We enjoyed so many great nights out and trips away down through the years, right up until the start of lockdown. There was an easy shorthand, that meant it always seemed like you picked up the conversation where you left off, even if there was a gap of months or years.

Ken was true to himself and he had an understated self-assurance. He got on with everyone and he treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. He valued everyone’s contribution, regardless of their role.

Ken had the great gift of being able to call a situation or someone’s behaviour with accuracy and witty good humour. He could make his point heard without making an enemy, as well as having the capacity to defuse tense situations.

Ken was great fun and he enjoyed life. He looked out for people whether it was the students, his colleagues, his friends and neighbours, his family or Marie’s family. I feel so sad he never got the chance to start on the new chapter with his beloved Marie in St. John’s Park West or to see his new grand-niece. I feel so sad I won't get to meet this great man again.

All will miss his kindness, generosity, intelligence, humour, advocacy, warmth and much more. Ken will forever be remembered with love and gratitude by all at Inchicore College. May he Rest in Peace.

Words cannot express the extent of the impact which Ken's passing will have on all those who knew him. Although we met as colleagues many years ago, I was privileged to call him a friend. Always kind and thoughtful, he was someone I knew I could turn to. Having travelled abroad together with work, most of our down-time was spent either attending a football match or scouring the streets for presents to send to his beloved nieces, aunts and neighbours. His passion for, and dedication to, the Bosco was admirable. When I first met Marie, I knew instantly that they were right together and I was so happy for both of you. My sincere condolences to Marie, his immediate and extended family and his many friends, all of whom were so important to him. RIP Ken

Stunned & deeply saddened to hear of Ken’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Ken in Inchicore from ‘95-‘00. A true gent, colleague & wonderful thoughtful friend. Always up for the craic & banter - particularly where his beloved Celtic were concerned. Can only imagine what a gap he will leave in the Inchicore staff room. Taken much too soon. Dear Ken,
It is with a deep sadness that I learned you left and I realised you will not come visit us in France anymore. We did not know eachother very much but it was always a pleasure to speak with you, quitte each year at some point of your french summer tour. When I first came to Ireland to Gaffney's family, I was 15, and I remember you were like an oncle to me, helping me to feel comfortable in my new family. You will always be part of my Irish soul. May you rest in peace Ken.
