What heartbreaking and sad news to hear that our dear college friend Kieran has died after a short illness. Sincere sympathy to Karen, Isabelle, Louis, Hugo and all the Dunne family.
Kieran was an absolute gentleman with a beautiful 'posh' London accent. He was funny and kind and full of life and we had many good laughs with him in college especially in the training restaurant!!
I know he and Neil Coates were very good friends in college and this friendship continued until the day Kieran died. Another college friend of Kieran's said to me 'you almost wouldn't think of one of them without thinking of the other' and that was so true and it gives you an idea of the deep, true and loyal friendship they had.
Rest in peace Kieran.

Deepest sympathies to Kieran's family, friends and colleagues at this sad time. To Karen, Isabelle, Louis, Hugo and to Michelle, Ivan, Sean and his many friends (I especially think of his old classmate Neil) I offer my heartfelt condolences.

I have nothing but happy memories of Kieran from our time together in DIT Cathal Brugha Street. He was such a great character and a real nice guy with a cool side-line of softly-spoken divillment. We shared many a task together in the cold old kitchens of CBS. He always tackled them with warmth and good humour whilst keeping a genuine eye out for his classmates. I know he became a great, respected manager in the business and HR world outside of what we studied, but one hopes his culinary skills stayed with him! He was one of the few to never burn an auld béchamel sauce, and was some man under pressure. He was a top classmate, enlivening many a dull lecture in some weird outbuilding or ‘lab’ that made up CBS at that time with a question or comment.

Leaving the world so young is just an awful thing for everyone, there is very little one can say that truly brings comfort, but hopefully Kieran’s family and loved ones can find strength at this sad time with the good memories staying with you forevermore and his presence and character always felt. RIP old pal.
— Ronan Casey, DIT CBS Class of 96
