My sympathies to you all on the sad passing of Mr.Matson, a fantastic French teacher kindly remembered from his days in Millstreet Community School

Sincere condolences to the Matson family on Leslie's death.
Leslie Matson was no stranger in Dún Chaoin (Dunquin) and he was regarded as a true and dedicated friend by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him well. In local parlance he was regardled as a ‘fear íseal uasal’ – a gentleman with quite a humble disposition.
We shall miss his visits to this parish and his generous sharing of his vast knowledge of all things Blasket.

Sincere condolences to the Matson family. I have very fond memories of Mr Matson from Millstreet Community School. He was such a great teacher and tutor and always treated us very kindly. A great gentleman.
RIP Mr.Matson...I can picture the room in Millstreet CS like it was yesterday, our first introduction to French in 1st year, what a job you must have had. Rest in Peace

Brilliant teacher... Mr Matson taught me french in Newtown School and noone will forget his wonderful trip to Paris in 1969... more recently he shared his photographs of that trip with me ... names carefully noted of course! We appreciated meeting the Matsons again at class reunions... fond memories and sincere condolences to Joan, Kristin, Sheila and their families.
So sad to hear of Leslie's passing. Many memories of his teaching in Newtown, and the lovely visit we had to Waterford Cathedral with the Kildare choir.
