Comhbhrón ó chroí le Muintir Matson ar fad as bhás Leslie le déanaí.
Sincere condolences to the Matson family on Leslie's death.
Leslie Matson was no stranger in Dún Chaoin (Dunquin) and he was regarded as a true and dedicated friend by all of us who had the privilege of knowing him well. In local parlance he was regardled as a ‘fear íseal uasal’ – a gentleman with quite a humble disposition.
We shall miss his visits to this parish and his generous sharing of his vast knowledge of all things Blasket.
Suaimhneas síoraí dó agus sólás Dé dá mhuintir.

Brilliant teacher... Mr Matson taught me french in Newtown School and noone will forget his wonderful trip to Paris in 1969... more recently he shared his photographs of that trip with me ... names carefully noted of course!
