Sincere sympathy to Liam's family on the passing of Liam. I knew Liam as my school bus driver. He was lovely to each student always a smile both morning and evening. So encouraging to us during exam time and assuring us he would not leave until we were all on the bus for our journey home after the exams. Then wishing every student good luck when we finished secondary school. But his friendship did not end there if you met Liam in Millstreet he would stop and chat and was so interested in what you were doing. The eurovision year was great being on Liam's bus as he would get tickets for us for the different concerts and he would give them to you when you'd be getting off the bus in case you'd lose them. Wonderful memories of a great person. Rest in Peace Liam and thank you.

The passing of Liam Coffee marks the end of a particular era not alone in town, but across a wide area, where he was well known and highly respected and regarded. Liam's contribution to Community life in Millstreet apart from his association with the Pipe Band which will always be paramount in his legacy, was the stuff of legend. I have fond memories of enjoying his dramatic talent in both serious and comic plays, both in the old cinema and in the STAR back in the late 60's and 70's, not to mention his contribution to Tops of the Parish also around that time. His services were regularly availed of as a gifted MC at various concerts, where his rendition of "A Woman, A Woman" regularly brought the house down. I was fortunate to be part of the Church Choir with him for many years when both he and the late Larry Moynihan carried the BASE line, particularly at Christmas. I believe he was the last surviving Male member of the Choral Society which was so successful back in the time. Liam's contribution to other facets of Community Life are well documented in these condolences. Truth is, he will be sorely missed but fondly remembered for many years to come. Go raibh leaba i measc na naomh agat Liam. Tá sé toillte go deimhin agat. Deepest sympathy to his immediate and extended family at this sad and difficult time
