Farewell, Liam. I have so many fond memories of our teenage years together, at school, in the chess club and of our adventures in Northumberland Road. May you rest in peace.
Rest in peace, Liam, our good neighbor and friend for over 20 years. Thank you for your neighborliness and concern, for your many wonderful St. Patrick's Day parties, and for your good humor and droll wit. I will miss seeing you raking the front yard or walking down Battle Road, your shock of white hair glinting in the sun.
To Robin, Ciaran, Aisling, and all in the O'Callaghan family, I send my deep condolences. How well you cared for Liam in his illness, and what a beautiful funeral you arranged for him in Ireland. I know you will find comfort in the memories you hold, and in the knowledge that you did all you could for him.

Dear Robin and family,
It was with sadness that I learned of the death of your beloved husband and father, Liam, and now I write to assure you of my prayerful sympathy and support. My mother joins me in these sentiments.
To those of us with the eyes of faith we believe that "through death, life is changed, not ended" and that in death "we shall our God as He is". We are made for that glorious vision!
Know that I will offer Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of Liam, as well as for the intentions of his family.
Yes, indeed: "It is in dying that we are born to eternal life."
