Please accept my sympathies on the passing of Liam. He was an inspiration to the Commodores of the Dun Laoghaire Yacht Clubs by the Trojan work he did during the battle to keep the harbour free of Cruise Ships. Always courteous: always ready to listen to the opposing viewpoint: always providing excellent advice.
May he rest in peace.

Daphne, Dara and Garrett, It was so sad to hear of the death of Liam. Liam meant so much to so many, especially to those in the DMYC for whom he gave endless hours of work and commitment over so many years. During lockdown Liam kept the art group going over zoom, we also remember his tireless efforts on behalf of the 4 waterfront clubs, in our opposition to the cruise berth development proposals that would have destroyed the pleasure amenity that is Dun Laoghaire Harbour.
He was so proud of his family and he got such great joy from his interactions with his grandchildren. We are going to miss his wicked quips (especially about my paintings) which always made us laugh. Few people have made such a positive impact on so many people as Liam, he will be greatly missed by us all. May he rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to the Owens family on Liam's sudden passing.. he was such fun to be with when sailing. In addition to many days out of Dun Laoghaire, I spent a great week sailing with Liam and friends in West Cork a few years ago. On that trip I never recall seeing Liam with anything other than a big grin, which rubbed off on everyone else.
