Together with our families, Mike and I send you our love and deepest sympathies.
I treasure sweet and heart-warming memories of the time I had the unforgettable honour and pleasure of having being hosted by Lois and Sean in their lovely home in Galway, treated like a family member, and of the life lessons I learnt from both. Lois' generosity, unmatched grace, witty, and superb emotional intelligence regardless of language barriers will be always in my heart.

The hymn, "Gentle Woman", comes to mind when I think of Lois. Indeed, she was that.
She opened her home to me and to so many other students over the years, she taught me to make scones, she introduced me to smoked eel--compliments of the street market in Galway--and welcomed my husband into the fold when we honeymooned in Ireland. A woman of great faith and great love, she cared--ceaselessly--for her family and made all those around her feel like family. 'Though miles away across the ocean, I am missing "my Irish mother" now. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Sean, with the kids and the grandkids. How blessed we are to have had our lives touched by Lois' great and gentle love.
