I first met Loretta in what seems like a lifetime ago when we were very young and working together in a restaurant. Over the years we would bump into each other here & there and have a chat and a laugh. Had heard about her illness and was so sad to hear just yesterday that she had passed away. Strikingly beautiful & so kind. Rest well lovely lady.

Deepest condolences to you Dermot and to Katie, Eoin and Hannah on the very sad passing of Loretta. She was such a beautiful person, in so many ways - kind, generous, warm, funny and caring. Loretta was such easy company too and it was a joy to welcome you both to San Francisco all those years ago just after your Dublin wedding! Those were fun days and you were both radiant, happy and full of joy setting off on the adventure you were to have together.
We both send all of you our love.

Dear Dermot,

Yesterday evening, I received the sad news from Lua that your wife passed away. Kolet and I offer you and your family our warm condolences for this loss. Although probably not unexpected, it is always a shock because life will never be the same again.
Kolet and I never had the pleasure of meeting your wife but we still remember vividly the great respect and warmth with which you spoke about her when we met in Kopenhagen, last December, and this despite all the existential dilemmas and hard choices you and your family were confronted with during her illness.
I hope and pray that she may rest in the palm of God’s hand.
With warm regards, also on behalf of Kolet,

Peter
