Sinceere sympathy to Lucinda, Gary, Brian, Karen, Colin, I was kid growing up in Harolds Cross, a baby sister of Fr. Mel Byrne Louis was always around us growing up, as he and my oldest brother were such great and loyal friends, I was a mere 5 years old when my brother went into and joined the Priesthood and Louie probably knew him more than I did , Louis Parents were just the best of people so naturally Louis was taught by the very best and grew up to be the very best there could be, I remember being in their family home many a time and his Mother Nurse Miller showing me how to Iron hankies and small items like this and his Dad I would a lot on buses etc. and on his bike around Harolds Cross he always had a lovely smile and kind words. Unfortunatly the last time I met and chatted to Louis was two years ago next Sunday at my brother in laws Don Coghlans funeral whos second anniversary just happens to be today. May Louis Rest in Peace Amen and may you all find comfort and keep safe and well all the rest of your lives best wishes from Rita xx

I first met Louis while lecturing in IMI in late 1960's/early 70's. Met again in a lift in SKCDublin in 1975 while job hunting. He kindly arranged a job in MasserTMG, he was in the same group and we met regularly for three years. Met briefly 20 years later and found him the same; positive, friendly and interesting Louis, a nice person. Sorry he is gone. My condolences.
