In Memory of Maeve Devlin
I gCuimhne ar Mhéabh Ní Dhoibhilin

Maybe if we’d grown to know about some cross you carried on your own in life,
Auguries of what would come might have been ours as loud we played on drum and fife.
Every hug and smile you shared was warm and wafted on a breeze of tenderness –
Verse and chapter you declaimed in wondrous words of affirmation free from stress –
Each and every circuit run you urged us on with shouts of joy as on we’d press.

Death was not what we then saw in you but in abundance and pure joy all life,
Even in this darkest hour your way of life shines forth to calm our petty strife.
Verses cannot capture you in all your goodness, loving shamrock green and white –
Lord of hosts, they daughter, Maeve, grant now her place secure beside you on your right –
In ainm an Athar, an Mhic is an Spioraid Naoimh go cinnte a bheannófar ár gcara Méabh,
Nuair a chasfar ar a chéile muid san áit nach mbeidh ann caoineadh, gol ná éabh.

Like everyone, my heart is broken and the world is a sadder place without you.
Maeve was a true blue.
We had great times together including Operation Transformation experience and great laughs.
Thank you for introducing me to your world of running, especially Fr. Collins Park run every Saturday a few years back.
An honour and pleasure knowing you and delighted to see you only last Friday passing on my bike.
Much Love
Kevin

I'm brokenhearted, shocked and devastated at your passing my dear pal. Such a decent kind loving person taking away too soon.
Through life's circumstances and demands we didn't see each other every day, but what we did know was that if the chips were down we had each other's back.
I'll miss you Maeve, you were a tour de force, always bubbly, always obliging and willing to help anyone in need....a true blue taken from us way too early.
If there's any consolation I can take from this awful tragedy it's that you are now in the arms of your beloved mother who you missed sorely.
May God bless you both and may you rest in peace my darling angel
Deepest sympathies to your family and many friends
Love you pal
