Maeve's jingles and songs are still going through my head from our day's together in An Taibhdhearc in Galway. Very fond memories of her and Bernard and their entertainment skills.

She was my teacher in Marino ,in the late 60s/70s.

Working with Maeve through the Writers in Schools Scheme was an honour and and a pleasure. I am so glad to have known Maeve and to have had the opportunity to spend time with her and to learn from her vast experience and great heart. On behalf of all the children and young people Maeve visited during my time working with her and on my own behalf and all of us in Poetry Ireland, I would like to extend our sincere sympathies.

good-humoured Lady.I was lucky to have been in her company up &
down to school on our bikes years ago from Clontarf to Raheny.She
was great fun, we laughed all the way,she was such a great tonic even

I have very fond memories of going to Maeves house with a crew of kids to do Irish comhra. We all used to land in on her on a Thursday evening. It was so relaxed and Maeve was inspiring. Deepest sympathies to all Maeve’s family at this saddest of times. Maeve was my teacher in Marino for 4 years in the late ‘60’s/early ‘70’s. I have the happiest memories of being in her class. She was a wonderful and inspirational teacher who made every single day fun. It was a joy to sit in her classroom where as well as the ‘3 R’s’, we learnt how to make butter (yes!) , knit socks on three needles and above all ,saw us tour the countryside performing in her legendary plays. I have such fond, happy memories of your dear Maeve, my ‘Miss Ingoldsby’ - she was the best.
