Sincerest condolences to Marie Louise and family on the passing of true "one of a kind" in Maire Cranny. As a pupil of hers, I have many fond memories of Saturday mornings spent reciting Shakespeare, Milton, Stoppard and Beckett.

How many can say that they shaped so many destinies and instilled in the young women and men that they taught such a love and appreciation of their craft?

Thank you Mrs Cranny for sharing your gift and opening my eyes to the theatre and the importance of good delivery.

-- The little crippled boy in "Oliver"

Miss Cranny was such a wonderful lady with great elegance and style and an inspirational teacher. She was so kind and patient and cared greatly about bringing out the very best in every one of her students. I have such happy memories of her drama classes in Notre Dame and can still remember my lines from 'The Sounds Of Dublin Through The Centuries' all these years later. We were lucky to have been taught by her. My sincere sympathy to her family. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

The influence of a good teacher can never be measured or erased. And Maire Cranny was a good teacher we were privileged to have in Eccles St. in the 1960s.
Miss Cranny had an innate elegance and a great sense of style which meant she was always impeccably well groomed. Rather than walking into the room, usually the rather large Concert Hall, she swept in and, with her remarkable presence, immediately took control. While addressing and teaching the entire class she somehow managed to focus on each individual.
Miss Cranny stimulated our brains, brightened our days and still enriches our memories..
May she rest in peace.
