I had the pleasure of being in Ms Cranny's elocution and drama class in Muckross in the late 60's. She was an elegant and inspiring lady and had such passion for her work. Her classes were fun and so enjoyable. May she rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy Marie-Louise & the family at this sad time. Your Mum was a legend and a great teacher.
My deepest sympathy to you Marie Louise on the death of your mum. I have lovely memories of Miss Cranny in Loreto College Cavan, many many years ago, teaching us elocution, and, putting on the dramas on stage in the big hall - we had such fun. May she rest in peace.
Sincerest condolences to Marie Louise and family on the passing of true "one of a kind" in Maire Cranny. As a pupil of hers, I have many fond memories of Saturday mornings spent reciting Shakespeare, Milton, Stoppard and Beckett.
How many can say that they shaped so many destinies and instilled in the young women and men that they taught such a love and appreciation of their craft?
Thank you Mrs Cranny for sharing your gift and opening my eyes to the theatre and the importance of good delivery.

Sincere sympathy to all the family on Máire’s passing. I worked with Máire in Loreto Foxrock for a number of years. She was a wonderfully gifted and inspiring lady. May she rest in peace.
Miss Cranny was such a wonderful lady with great elegance and style and an inspirational teacher. She was so kind and patient and cared greatly about bringing out the very best in every one of her students. I have such happy memories of her drama classes in Notre Dame and can still remember my lines from 'The Sounds Of Dublin Through The Centuries' all these years later. We were lucky to have been taught by her. My sincere sympathy to her family. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to all the family and friends of dear "Miss Cranny". Hardly a week goes by without my thinking of a moment in one of her classes in Muckross Park Junior school in the 1970s. And there were so many moments! She was a wonderful and inspiring teacher and so kind too.
Sending my deepest condolences to all of Ms Cranny’s family. She was an amazing woman who has had a profound impact on so many of her pupils. I was privileged to have her teach me in Muckross Primary school and privately for years and I always think of her when I need to present or pitch in work. She gave me the confidence to always know I can do it. So sad to hear of her passing and may she rest in peace.

Sincere condolences to all the family. She was a remarkable lady and a wonderful teacher. She will certainly have a long lasting legacy through the many generations of students she taught so well.
The influence of a good teacher can never be measured or erased. And Maire Cranny was a good teacher we were privileged to have in Eccles St. in the 1960s.
Miss Cranny had an innate elegance and a great sense of style which meant she was always impeccably well groomed. Rather than walking into the room, usually the rather large Concert Hall, she swept in and, with her remarkable presence, immediately took control. While addressing and teaching the entire class she somehow managed to focus on each individual.
Miss Cranny stimulated our brains, brightened our days and still enriches our memories..
May she rest in peace.
