Deepest sympathy to Mick and family on the very sad passing of your mother Margaret may her gentle soul rest in peace 🙏
— Thomas Gahan Woodlands Mullingar
Larger than life, a huge character, often used cliches which describe you Marg more than anyone I've ever known. Ice cream floats and 99's Picking up your high heels from Nolan's shoe repair, then the ruined lino from the jiving with the door. Endless wallpapering. My first bingo with you, when I won 20 pounds, and we thought we were rich. The Tramps ball. The giant Valentine's Day cards, the boxes of chocolates. When you and Mick were married. The time when you and Mick and Collette and Tommy were partying in the parlour and I was introduced to smoking cigarettes and drinking Babycham. Then came our treasure, Jackie. I was so proud that you trusted me to take care of your very special gift. 209 Bunting rd came next, and all those sherry trifles. I'll never forget when Ada and John first came to visit me here. Ada had been instructed to buy you a suit, from the Mall of America for a wedding. Later, as the suit is hanging from a curtain rod in my bedroom and Ada is telling you on the phone that she found one and will go back and get it tomorrow. With my head spinning, when the call ended I asked Ada why she didn't tell Margie that she already had it. Ada said " oh Gerry, if I told Margie that I got it, she would want me to go back and get another one in a different color". I'm so glad that I got to talk to you last week and tell you how much I love you. I will miss you, but I refuse to be sad. Even now you inspire me, and you always will. Again Margie, Thank You.

Auntie Margie, you were a wonderfully kind woman with a big smile for everyone. I’ll miss chatting with you and my mum around your kitchen table dearly. You were a brave lady who always said it like it was with brutal honesty and wit. Watching you gracefully accept your fate and hold your hand for a final time will forever humble me.

I hope you are somewhere in the universe now, with my mam picking out outfits and shoes from a catalogue with a cuppa and enjoying the afterlife as the life and soul of the party you always were. Good times. Your loving niece, Pauline x
