Sincere sympathy to Al, Cormac and Marilyn's extended family and many friends. She will be sadly missed. She was so thoughtful and generous.
I have had contact with her over many years and will sorely miss the American emails.
So many Irish families have benefitted from Marilyn coming to Ireland. The counsellors she trained are working throughout the country and other countries in Europe.
Take comfort in all the good she has done.

Sincerest sympathies to all of Marilyn's family. I was a resident in Aiseiri, Cahir in 1996 and Bushy Park, Ennis some years later. Sr. Eileen and all the councillors, in both centres, used the Minnesota method and both Bob and Marilyn were referred to and quoted on numerous occasions. So indirectly I owe a huge gratitude to them both for my sobriety today. May Marilyn R.I.P.

Deepest sympathy to you AL,Cormac and the extended Brisset and Kruger families on Marilyn's death. May her gentle soul rest in peace. Marilyn was a beautiful, gracious wife, mother, and teacher who brought the Minnesota Model of Treatment to Ireland and beyond - I being one of her students. She had time for everyone and gave of her best and so we graduated, knowing that we were ready to return to the different treatment Centres confident that we could work with the Minnesota model which brought new life to many people young and old, here and abroad and always aware of the need to keep updated and avail of supervision, What a legacy. We had mass offered here in Saint saviours convent for her with Bishop Willie Walsh as celebrant and he was really touched by the work she had done. I remember Marilyn with deep love and gratitude and may you be consoled in believing “Those we love and lose are no longer where they were before, they are wherever we are”. Sister Noreen Cochran Ennis.

Bob and Marilyn were true mentors and friends to me during my training and development as a counselor and I had the great pleasure of visiting st croix Falls on two occasions.
It was a great joy when Marilyn met Al and had so many happy years with him. Patsy and I had a lovely time with them in st croix Falls in about 2005 or 2006? when Al took Patsy canoeing on the boundary waters near Canada and Marilyn and I went to her relatives in the Mid west. Sweet memories... She was a true lady!
May Marilyn rest in eternal peace. God bless and console her grieving family.

Occasionally in life we meet someone exceptional and that person was Marilyn to me for 17 years. In May 1983 we first met at Hazelden Addiction Treatment centre. She and Bob took an extraordinary step in faith to come to Tipperary to help establish the Aiseiri Treatment Centre. She trained many students in Ireland and Europe to become Addiction Counsellors.
Marilyn’s qualities of sincerity, trust and belief in people were her outstanding gifts. She enriched many lives.
In my heart forever. May you rest in peace Marilyn.
