Eileen, sincere condolences to you and all the family, and especially to your grand daughters Holly and Jodi on the untimely passing of your dear daughter Marion, their beloved Mom. It doesn’t seem like 50 years since I met you at the shop and you said you called the baby Marion. I know no words will help at this minute but I do know for certain that time will always ensure the loving memories will never fade, and the girls have a wonderful and practical Granny. May Marion’s gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Marion was a force of nature — a lovely, warm, vibrant, generous person with an infectious energy, a big heart and a wacky sense of humour. Her funeral service was lovely in so many ways. How true what the celebrant said: the world is a lesser place without Marion.

Deepest sympathy to Marion's family, She was a great girl and it was an honour to have known (and lived with) her at Edinburgh, The jokes, laughter and grassmarket shenanigans are still memorable to this day, She was great criac and had a real talent for subtly taking the p*ss out of people with 'notions' who took themselves too seriously, and I can't believe one of our sessions from dropkick murphy's (almost 30yrs ago) made the grade for her chapel slide show ! Not exactly mighty in the kitchen, in fact it was straight to A&E with food poisoning one night, but she had an uncanny ability to turn mishaps into memories with her terrific outlook on the bigger picture and a mischievous smile and sense of humour that perfectly balanced her kind and generous nature with unwavering optimism while facing into adversity, Taken way too soon -Codladh Sámh Mar

Although we met but a few times since, you always left meeting Marion for the better and with a smile on your face.
