I remember fondly the stall he had in the English Market in Cork where he brought a splash of colour and a glimpse of the possible to the very grey 80s in Cork. Very sad to hear the news, my condolences to his family, too young to go.

To the Murray Family, Maria & Lewis and the gobal community of Martin's life long friends. My deepest condolences to you all on the loss of a truly dear friend.
I was lucky enough to have met Martin, in 2002 and I am indebted to him for the time we shared.
His love of life and support of the arts and culture in Cork is where I thank him for sharing with me.
From opening nights at The Cork Film Festival, and sitting in the corporate box ! His infectious laughter heard by all.
To the beautiful mint Italian Vespa, parked outside the apartment on South Terrace. The baby grande piano at the top of the stairs, to which I never knew if he really could play !
I often thought of Martin when I passed and wondered, where did Martin ended up.
Back where he start it now seems.
The void Martin has left behind can now only be filled with wonderful memories of such an amazing man, who lived life to the brim, that overflowed into everyone's lives.

A proud Irish & Cork man he was an understated pillar of the Irish community. Our sincerest condolences to Maria & Lewis, family and friends. I have fond memories of Martin from the moment I first met him until our last lunch together. Conversation was always more that interesting with Martin, his passion for family, enjoying life, people, culture and energy was remarkable. I couldn't manage to match Martin in chess, or possibly many other ways but it was always fun. I wish we could have many more lunches or time together. We will miss you, rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to all the Murray family. I am just so sad that the world has lost one of the most entertaining people I ever knew and Martin was truly 'Murder on the Dancefloor' in that he would keep us up there dancing all night long. I have such wonderful memories going back to the 80's and the night before Company B opened, a P.R. night on the town with Martin, both dressed in army surplus gear and promoting the store in all the bars. Martin was a good friend for a long time - but then life goes on and we'd meet occasionally - and I attended one of his many annual 40th Birthdays. I am so happy that Martin met his love Maria and that Lewis had the most amazing father. He is now looking down on you all - with that smile and love. Rest in Peace old friend. Judith
