Mary first came to Ballingarry in the 1950’s to help her Aunt Mrs Butler run her pub on Main St , Ballingarry ( which was subsequently sold to my Maher family in 1960 upon the demise of Mrs Butler) . I have great memories of visiting the pub as a child on Sunday mornings at Mass times . Mary stayed on in Ballingarry & married local butcher & shop keeper Tommy Purcell & gave many great years service to the village & parish community - she was a lovely lady . Rest in peace Mary
