Mary Frances WILSON

Mary Wilson was poise and grace personified! She was gracious, generous and fun ! She was one of the finest school principals that Toronto has had. Countless of students and their families have benefited from Mary's wisdom and leadership. She will live on in the hearts and minds of many! My sincerest condolences to Mary's family.

It is with a heavy heart that I send this message of sympathy to Nancy and the extended family. Mary has been a wonderful friend since the 60’s when she first came to Toronto and we taught in the same school. She was one of a kind, a delightful spirit full of warmth and kindness, always with a twinkle in her eye. We will miss her very much.

I will always be grateful to Mary, not only for her warmth and kindness, but for the shrewd and determined way she navigated the school board's bureaucracy. As principal, she was tireless in her efforts to nurture the best staff for our school and to secure extra supports for the children who needed them most. When my middle daughter, Natalie, died, Mary set up a lovely memorial in the school foyer, and thus modelled "good grief" for the children, teachers and parents and helped our family to heal. My deep condolences to Mary's family and long-time friends. She was an extraordinary person who touched many, many lives.

Mary touched so many young and older souls during her lifetime with her kindness and gentle wisdom. Rest in peace, Mary. You will always be remembered by those who were lucky enough to have known you.

Nancy and to all of Mary's wonderful family, my very deepest spymathy. I am in complete shock I was just in the midst of writing to Mary to ask when she would be returning to Canada. I first met Mary on a flight from London to Toronto on Jan 1 1969 and our friendship has grown in leaps and bounds. My love and prayers go out to you all.
