She was funny and spread happiness wherever she went
One funny time was when she decided to cut her ponytail and we organised a Save the Mane campaign. She won!
Then I worked with her in Connolly.
Now a very respected and admired Urologist she still had time for coffee and a chat before I retired.
An amazing funny, lady who excelled in her professiom.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel on reading of the untimely passing of Mary. My deepest and sincerest condolences to her family and extension family..
I was a GP in Blanchardstown for many years. I had many dealings with Mary over those years. If ever I had a problem concerning a patient , all I had to do was phone Mary and my patient would be seen not just at her next clinic but frequently on that same day.
She was a brilliant urologist with empathy , sympathy and rapport with her patient. She was very highly respected by all my GP colleagues in Blanchardstown and further afield. She dedicated her life to medicine and saved numerous lives including many of my patients.
When my husband Alex passed away eighteen years ago the first letter that I received in the post was from Mary. When I took early retirement twenty years ago .for family reasons I received a lovely letter from Mary with encouragement and support hoping that I would not totally abandon medicine. I didn't , but not in General practice.
Sadly I cannot attend her funeral as a close family member of my own David Silke has passed away and his funeral is on the same day in county Galway..
But, my thoughts and prayers are with you her family.
I will send a donation in her memory to the Irish Hospice foundation
She will be sadly and greatly missed.
May her gentle kind soul Rest in Peace
Eileen Silke
.

One couldn’t but really like Mary. I always, admired Marys spirit, style and sparkle in boarding school though she was slightly junior to me. Already in my eyes, she was a bright light in an un- assuming way and clearly, a steady, strong tennis player, too. Marjorie, Mary and their parents seemed so respectively bonded and always excited about general Life.
I feel so very much for You, Marjorie And Stephen,
Philippa Thomas.
