We have all felt shock and sadness at the loss of Mary, a loss that we share with everyone here. As colleagues of Mary, we go about our daily duties in these days with a sense of emptiness, for Mary was a big presence, a vital and vibrant presence at Smarmore.
Mary had a song in her heart from the day she arrived at Smarmore, a great sense of humour, matched with her determination to help those who were suffering from addiction. Her dedication to patients and family members was unswerving.

We will always miss you Mary.
— Dominic McCann, on behalf of the McCann Family and Smarmore

Oh Maura... the times we planned to meet again in Florida... to reminisce of evil witches in black trench coats, or sultry seductress in a Sandymount school hall... plays and shows and positive vibes.
Distance has kept us apart for years but technology kept us in touch.
Sleep well. Cast your magic personality into our hearts. We will never forget such a sparkling soul.
