With sincere sympathy to the Rooney family. Mrs. Rooney thought me English from 1st year to Inter-cert in the 80's. She was a good teacher, a good lady .. and had a lot of patience. RIP.

God Bless a wonderful Teacher and truly inspirational Lady.
To all the Rooney family please accept our sincere sympathy on the death of Mary. May her gentle soul Rest in Peace. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
Sincerest Sympathies to all family and friends. Mary (Mrs Rooney) was my geography teacher in secondary school, in the early/mid 1980's. Really really liked and admired her as a teacher and a person. A great and passionate teacher. Also had her for library class once a week, she used to carry a huge box of thoughtfully selected books up to the top of the Rectory building, in an effort to get us to share her passion for reading. Always strong, practical, witty, helpful and understanding. Rest in Peace Mrs. Rooney, I will always have very fond memories of you.
My deepest sympathy to you all on the passing of Mary... its a long time ago since I first met Mary about 30 years and I am so sad to hear of her passing. She did fight a great battle and I know just how special all of you were to her. Thinking of you all and remembering Mary with fond memories. Helen and Seamus Meehan ,Dunmore
