My deepest sympathy to Maurice, Marie and Sheelagh. I have fond memories of times spent in the Carr household . There was always something going on from table tennis in the garage to sing songs and parties. I think at one party Ned Doyle tried to bring a horse in the front door but was refused entry by Mary and on reflection that was quite reasonable. Her driving was something to behold and something you would only want to experience once. She was a mighty woman - the last of a mighty generation. May she rest in peace.

Mary was my father’s cousin & as children I recall fun times and parties at the house in Maghera, where the family decamped for weeks in the summer. In more recent years I have fond memories of our visit to Tipperary where we were made so welcome. Not only was Mary, along with her sister Peggy a champion tap-dancer, she was very talented in all arts and crafts. Small in stature but big in personality Mary reached a great age and would have lived through a lot of changes. Rest in peace Mary
