I have just seen the death notice and want to express my sincere condolences to all the Murphy family on the sad loss of your lovely mother and grandmother Maureen.

Maureen had a wonderful warm heart. I volunteered with her at the BALANCE Saturday special needs preschool in the 1990s. She not only cared for the children so well, but looked after me too with lifts, advice and great kindness. I have wonderful memories of our chats and popping in occasionally for a cuppa with her and the late Tadhg. I'm glad they are reunited now. I hope all the good memories will help you during the difficult times.

I first got to know Maureen 32 years ago. She volunteered in a playgroup for children with additional needs on Saturdays. She had a lovely gentle demeanour and I enjoyed her company so much. Her kindness and dedication to the children was inspirational. She found time to do this even though she had six children of her own. For years afterwards I had lovely chats with Maureen whenever we met. She always had a smile and an interest in people. May I offer my sincere condolences to all her family. She was so proud of you all. May Maureen sleep in heavenly peace agus go lonraí solas na bhFlaitheas uirthi.

Her funeral Mass was a wonderful tribute to a lady who lived every moment of life to the full. Rest in peace Maura.
