Maureen was a great science teacher and an inspiration to many students who entered her class. She inspired me to peruse a career in science that I am still in 20 years later. Thank you for your knowledge, compassion and passion. You will be missed and a true Kieran’s hero!
— Sean Holohan
Sincere sympathy to all of the Meany Family. Maureen was a truly outstanding teacher. Her positive influence on the many ex St. Kieran's Boys who chose to progress to Third level education and a career in the Sciences, Engineering and Agricultural Science is immeasurable. A rare 'free class' might mean watching David Attenborough's Living Planet or a slide show of her trips to Africa. Ever the Educator. An even rarer occurrence was to see Ms. Meany without the famous white Lab coat. She treated everyone fairly and when the work was done you could have the fun. May Maureen Rest In Peace.
