Deepest sympathy to Michael’s family,
A great man that will be missed,
May he rest in peace.
— Ambrose Clinton
Michael Ashurs magnificent work hung for years at the back of a reception area on Lr Abbey St. I had the good fortune to purchase this huge artwork on behalf of an admirer of Ashurs work when that reception area was closed. Michael’s work is extraordinarily vivid and vibrant. It will remain a lasting legacy to his memory and his contribution to modern Irish art.

We were very sorry indeed to read of Michael's sudden death. In his earlier years Michael worked in a studio in our home producing his very original artworks.
We remember Sheila too at this sad time.
We are having a Mass said for Michael on Saturday 27th April at 10am in St Mary’s Church, Haddington Road.
Our deepest sympathy.
May he rest in peace.

My condolences on the passing of Michael. We were classmates at CUS and I still have among my treasured possessions a sketch he made of me in Fifth Form. Needless to say it is an excellent likeness and perfectly executed. It was always a pleasure to meet him again at CUS Union events, He was a true gentleman.
May he rest in peace.

Very sad to hear of Michael's passing. I first met him back in the late sixties and early Seventies during our time at the College of Art. A unique artist, Mike was a gentle man and a gentleman in every sense of the word.
My condolences to his family

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the death of Michael. I have only known him a short time through business and he was a true gentleman. I intended to meet him in person at some stage and regret that I didn’t arrange it sooner. Helen Fletcher, and on behalf of Avison Young.
