Hello Michael,

I only became aware of you recently, via your 'Finding Kate' book about Kate Bush, created with Marius Herbert - clearly a labour of love. However, in my opinion, it represents a fine legacy in itself and, of course, I realise it is only a small part of what you brought to the world.

Rest in Peace, Michael, and thank you.

I only found out today about Michael's passing. We had worked together for a number of years on various book projects. He was so energetic and positive with a great eye for detail and color and I received so many compliments on his work. Such a talented man, taken well before his time. May he rest in peace.

I have only just heard the very sad news of Michael's passing. My condolences to his wife and family. Deirdre, Holly, Conor and Alyson. It has taken me a few days to come here and offer my condolences. I'm so sorry for your loss. I haven't known Michael long, but felt we had been friends for a lifetime, bonding over our love of Kate and the magnificent book that he and Marius published. I was blown away by it. He was a great support to me through my own journey with cancer and I will miss that. I feel blessed to have known him for the short time that I did. My thoughts are with you all.

Dear Dee and family, we are so very sorry and shocked at Michaels untimely passing. He was a rock of sense and sincerity in a very turbulent world and will be sorely missed from our lives. I was shocked by the sad news about Michael Byrd. I didn't know him, but we exchanged some messages about his awesome "Finding Kate" book. I also dared to ask for a second volume. That will be unfortunately out of question now, but I'll be forever gateful to this wonderful man for sharing his skills with all Kate's fandom and with me. Thank you for the happiness you gave to me.

Very sorry to hear about Michael. As you know, we had the pleasure of working with him on Irish Peaks. He was always knowledgeable and accommodating, prepared to go the extra mile in circumstances that most others, quite understandably, would not. It was just reward and appropriate that his work achieved the recognition that it deserved, in the Banff Award.
I was able to gift his Kate Bush biography to two of my friends who are big fans, and they were both hugely impressed.
Such a tragedy for you and the family, particularly at this time of year.
