My sincerest condolences to all Fly's family. He really was a true gentleman. I worked in The Arms back in the day and Fly was so loved and always had a smile and a story mid-gig. One memorable night was the Pettit familys last night in the hotel. Fly finished his set with "Don't Dream It's Over" and there were many tears shed. I still remember that night vividly and it showed his true self, a lovely man with a genuine heart. Rip Fly

I have just learned today of the sad passing of of a dear neighbour and friend fly. We grew up together in Dillon St. and had fond memories of our times there.
I hadn't seen him for a good number of years, when he came to visit his uncle Paddy in St Anthony's during the summer . My memory of him on that day was of him singing beautiful ballads just like he always did.
To jenny and family, our deepest sympathies. To his fiancée Tracey, his heartbroken brothers and sisters, and extended families, too numerous to mention, our heartfelt sorrow.
