So sorry to learn of Mick's death (too late for his funeral) . Many many wonderful memories mostly filled with fun and good humour, not least a two week holiday in Ibiza more than 50 years ago with Davy Browne, Noely Kenny , Jack Gleeson and the late Brendan Conway . A wonderful companion ,memories are all smile producing.

The sad notice of Mick's demise brought back reminiscences of our exchanges, on and off the field. He was a person who left an indelible impression on you and I so much enjoyed his appointment to officiate our games in Bryanstown. Friendship ensued and he was a fantastic raconteur who engaged us all, following games, with great banter. To those who lament and mourn his sad departure - family, friends and fellow referees - I extend my deepest sympathy.

Mick you were simply the best ! the best Coach the Castle rugby team had in 1976, the best referee who played "advantage" the way it should be and the best of craic and a gentleman who gave all of us an infectious love for rugby ! Thanks Mick RIP.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Micheal. I worked with Michael for the last year and half, we had some wonderful chats about technology. I was so fond of him, I saw Michael at Christmas, he gave me a lovely card and I cherish the kind words, gentle nature and laughs that we had. May he rest in peace.
