Our Forever Friend and special neighbour Mick. Thank you for all your lovely stories, kindness and beautiful smile. You’ll be forever in our thoughts and prayers.

Our sincere condolences to Marie and the Gough family.

Our condolences to you all on the loss of a great husband , brother, dad and granddad.

We have enjoyed great times in your company. The most recent memories were on you last trip to NZ and the night in the club with the fabulous story telling and reciting of poetry - never known two brothers as good.

Also the night in the Lord Bagnell when Paul and Mick caught up with us when we were over - poor Paul as Mick just wanted to continue talking into the wee hours of the morning and he had to get up early to catch the bus to Dublin for work.

A true gentleman who has gone to rest but left lasting fabulous memories for his dearest and others to treasure..

He lives on in the hearts of you all.

RIP Mick

Love to the family

Marie, John, Paul and Anna Marie and your extended family. I was saddened to hear of Micks passing.
He was a great man, always interested in how you were, and your family.
I know our Mum and Dad admired him greatly, his conversation, story telling, and Marie's beautiful singing.
Many a wonderful night at the Club in the old days.
Thinking of you all at this sad time, May he Rest in Peace.

Dear Marie, Paul, Trish and whole whanau

We are sorry to hear that Mick has passed but know that he was surrounded by you all caring for him at home. We missed Mick when he left Lower Hutt and always loved seeing his boyish smiley face and hearing his infectious laughter when him and Frank visited Lower Hutt. They would think nothing of walking the streets to Taita , Belmont, Waterloo and then drop into the Hutt Valley Irish Society and that was when they were in their late eighties! We will so miss Mick's story telling, singing and enduring friendship. Mick was a living Irish legend and we are sorry for your loss.
Love and aroha to you all at this tough time.

Well, he had a bloody good crack at life going half way round the world and back in irish clubs, pubs, homes, sports fields, factories and footpaths bringing knowledge, humour and always willing to debate the finer points as long as was necessary. He was always dapper and kempt exuding elan with a sprighly look about him. Many a new word I gleaned in his orbit.
He was a wonderful lifelong friend to my father and a loving uncle to us blackguard scamps as we yahooed round the neighbourhoods in his adopted faraway home, New Zealand.
Best wishes Marie, Frank and Noreen. The originals are bowing out. Bless you and all yours.

One always felt the better of meeting Mick and though those meetings might be months, sometimes even years apart, Waterford hurling and his Decies roots would always merit a mention as did the fact we almost shared the same surname!
