To Auntie Bernie, he was more than an amazing husband; he was her partner in crime, her comedic relief, and her eternal love story rolled into one.

Lynne, Audrey, Andrew, Michael Jr., and Darren, your dad wasn't just a father he was the chief architect of your unique family dynamic. He may have left the stage, but his legacy continues to shine through each of you.

As Mick joins Thelma and Michael Farrell after 43 years, we can almost hear the banter and laughter echoing in the heavens above. Farewell, dear uncle, may your jokes continue to bring smiles to the faces of angels.

Our tears of joy on finally getting justice for Thelma and Michael was truly bittersweet

With love and laughter,

Rest in Peace dear uncle

Couldn't believe when listening to Joe Duffy on Friday, I heard Michael Herbert's name mentioned. It was no surprise to hear he was a good & loyal friend. Then the person being interviewed said he had sadly passed away the previous day . Mhdsrip. We grew up together on Green castle Rd, & lived opposite each other. Travelling home from work on the 27 was always great craic when Michael was on the bus. Michael was a wonderful friend & neighbour & long after he'd moved from Coolock he always dropped in to see our mam , Mrs Mc. She loved his visits & he brighten up her day. So sorry Bernie to you & your family & to Christopher, John, Kathleen & Peggy. May Michael rest in Peace, our thoughts & prayers are with you all. Remembered fondly. Bridie Mc.

The most special memories of growing up with uncle mick the messer,
always having all the kids, nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours in stitches with his messing. A usual 10 min walk to the shop with mick took 2 hours as he would stop an have a chat with everyone along the way. So lucky to call you my uncle.
And what an amazing family you have reared with your rock of a wife Bernie. My thoughts and prayers are now with you & your children & grandchildren as you journey on your life without him. May you hold your treasured memories dearly. Mick will be sorely missed by all who had the honour to know him.

Love always

Michelle & family x

Mick, I will never forget how lucky I am that I got to call you my father in law in this lifetime. From day 1, you welcomed me with loving arms.

Thank you for everything you did for me, Darren and the boys. You were adored and will always be the missing piece in the family.

Please watch over everyone and continue to show us your bright, loving self in different ways.

Until we all meet again xx
— Caroline
Sincere condolences to Bernie and all the family. Mick was a lovely neighbour and always had a smile on his face and time for a chat with us and the girls. He will be sadly missed in Ashvale Court. May he rest in peace.xxx
— Jessica, Brian Stritch and girl's.
Mick was a real character and will be sadly missed by many. He was an extremely kind neighbour - from cutting the grass outside houses to taking in the bins for many of us. He had a great sense of humour and his one liners were hilarious...as a couple Mick and Bernie were like a comedy double act and would make you roar with laughter as they "bantered" with eact other. I have rarely come across such a loving couple where family always came first - a thing you see less and less these days, but this duo epitomised the "family" as what it should be. Although Mick is now off to the angels, Bernie I am sure will continue to be the rock that she has always been !
Much love from Vanessa & Alan.

My dear Daddy.

The funniest, happiest and most caring man. You filled my life with love, joy and laughter. You were my hero, the only man I ever needed to look up to, my best friend, my confident and my shoulder to cry on... I knew I was never alone with you at my side. You thought me to be a good person, a man and a father. I could not have done it without your guidance.

The unconditional love and pride you showed in your wife, children and grandchildren will live on with us for generations and the profound effect of happiness you have left with all your family, friends, neighbours and even passerbys on your walks offers me great comfort in knowing we were not the only ones who got to see the spectacular man that you were. You lit up every room you ever walked into.

Your suffering over the last few years could not break your spirit, nothing could. You had determination like i have never seen and probably will never see again. I'm glad you can finally rest and watch over us. Like you have everytime before please show us all the way to get trough this.

Please look over me, Caroline, Lennix, Harry, the twins and all your family and friends.

You will always be loved and will never be forgotten.

Rest easy Dad.

Love you always,

Darren.
