Sincere condolences to all of Mick's family and his many friends. I had the pleasure and the privilege of playing with Mick in lots of sessions in The Cobblestone over the years. He was a gorgeous fiddle player and a great singer. He was hugely encouraging and supportive of me and all the musicians around him and we were lucky to have him. Of course he was also really good company and I will treasure the memories of those nights always. Suaimhneas síoraí lena anam uasal.

I have very fond memories of Mick of when he lived in Arklow in the 1970s. Mick taught in the secondary school there. & was highly respected as a teacher. We played music together in Wicklow & Wexford. & he took me to his home place in Kilmovee & Ballaghaderreen. We formed a group Tarbolten & played every Friday night in Andrew's Bar in Avoca. He was a beautiful fiddle player in the style of of his native home place Mayo/Roscommon & Leitrim. Also an excellent singer. He was a very well liked person by all his friends & a true gentleman. May your memories comfort you as you grieve his loss. May his kind & gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Our good friend Mick has passed away, his passing will leave a massive void in our lives. We met in The Cobblestone many years ago, we could not but fall for MIck, his intelligent and witty conversation, his fantastic songs, his brilliant musical playing, but most of all he made you feel you were the most important person in the place.
He loved involving everyone in the session and had a special place for young people, our own family included, his praise and encouragement will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
We will miss Mick, may he rest in peace.
