Michael and I both joined the National Bank in Ballinasloe in mid 60s ... we both were shocked at the National - a far bigger bank - being "taken over "by BOI ... but the Lynch government got their way and the UK side of the business sold for a pittance ... but we still had the craic .;; RIP Michael you will be missed, Sheamus

My father was Pat Oregon his cousin Joe was married to a sister of Michael so when Michael arrived in Fermoy where I grew up he became a regular visitor to our home. He read comics for myself and my younger sister. On hearing of the death of my Mother, Michael drove from Kilkenny to her removal in Fermoy in 1982. Michael was one lovely guy and over the years when we went back to Donegal I hoped our paths might have crossed but alas no . I would like to offer my sympathy to both you Leo and James.
