Michael was a rare gem, a wonderful, warm and generous spirit who would light up any room with his presence. His passion and enthusiasm for the music was infectious, with the joy and great humour he brought to every occasion. He was one of the great Leitrim legends that I feel privileged to have known and I’ll cherish the great memories of Michael at sessions and gigs in Cryans and The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon through the years.
